Green. Green. Green. It’s the time of the year that people are free to go as wild as they like to celebrate one of the biggest parties each year—St. Patrick’s Day. Here in NoVA, we may not have grand celebrations like Chicagoans do (dyeing the Chicago River green as an annual ritual), but there are various local venues with Irish flare. We’ve hand-picked some Celtic performances in the area for you to enjoy.

Clyde’s Third Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at Reston Town Center
Saturday, March 16, 8:30 a.m.-11 p.m., 11905 Market St., Reston, clydes.com
A St. Patty’s party wouldn’t be complete without Guinness beer and Irish folk dancing. Go have fun at Clyde’s annual celebration where you’ll enjoy a bacon & kegs Irish breakfast at 10 a.m., then have some Guinness beer while watching live entertainment all day. Kiddos can get face painting! Free admission.

A Celtic Celebration
Sunday, March 17, 4 p.m., National Presbyterian Church, 4101 Nebraska Ave., NW, Washington, D.C., fairfaxchoralsociety.org
Ballads, dances, bagpipes … Hear some Irish airs at this rousing musical celebration by the Fairfax Choral Society’s Adult Chorus with the Washington Symphonic Brass and mezzo soprano soloist Jacqueline Horner. Tickets are $30 at the door; $25 in advance; $15 for students.

Natalie MacMaster
Sunday, March 17, 7 p.m., 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, cfa.gmu.edu
You sure don’t want to miss this energetic celebration of Celtic culture! Let the Grammy-nominated artist, Natalie MacMaster, bring you jaw-dropping step-dancing, fiddling ferocity and her signature sound combining Celtic, bluegrass and folk with jazz, rock and even classical music. Admission ranges from $24-48; free student tickets available with GMU ID.

Keltish St. Patrick’s Day Concert

March 17, noon-3:30 p.m., 227 Maple Ave. E, Vienna, jamminjava.com

Jammin’ Java will bring you an evening of Irish music, featuring Keltish, a Wammie-nominated five-piece band who plays traditional Celtic tunes with a fun and tasteful modern twist. The Homespun Ceilidh Band that plays scottish fiddle music will also be performing! Tickets are $10 in advance; $13 at the door.
